Subscription Plans
Back when Best, Inc. was named Sage, Inc., or even State of the Art, a Subscription Plan was called a Maintenance Plan. A rose by any other name was just as expensive! Still, as I considered how to tackle the painful subject of Subscription Plans, it occurred to me that the now-defunct term Maintenance Plan made sense. Any homeowner or car owner knows that these tangibles require persistent scrutiny and maintenance, lest they fall into disrepair. A problem neglected can quickly expand and require an expensive solution. We grumble, but we change the oil and keep an eye on the gutters.
Best, Inc. is aware that we don't happily pay the cost of the Subscription / Maintenance Plans, and the company has been striving to make the cost benefit more apparent to MAS 90 / MAS 200 end users. Are you aware of the many advantages your current Subscription Plans delivers? In addition to the usual assurances of upgrades (major program enhancements), maintenance releases / IRDs (dare I say it? bug fixes and minor enhancements), your company enjoys the right to unlimited access to BOSS (Best On-line Support Services).
BOSS offers you the same knowledge data base that Best, Inc.'s technical support personnel employ. It is available 24 hours a day, and contains access to thousands of common, and not so common, questions and problems. On BOSS you can sign up for e-mail notifications for product updates or program fixes that will help you maintain and improve your software's performance.
The BestTalk discussion forum provides access to the online discussion groups who can provide valuable ideas on how to use your software's capacity to better serve your company.
In the Chat section, you can interact one-on-one with other MAS 90 / MAS 200 end users, and discuss ways to expand the use of your software.
You can even check up on what modules your company owns, and see the serial numbers and unlocking keys. While you're there, you can make sure all of your contact information is correct.
Don't forget the benefits contained in the Technical Reference Support Guide (TRSG). This guide is updated regularly, and contains valuable information, including FAQ's for year-end processing.
Whether you call it a Maintenance Plan or Subscription Plan, your company's must be current in order to add modules or users. As you explore the numerous benefits Best has added, we think you'll agree that the scope of the offering has grown significantly, and offers useful resources.
